What do you regret about how the relationship with your child's father?

Meaning, if you weren't married to him or currently in a (romantic) relationship with him---what would you have done differently, looking back? As far as pursuing child support or not...or haggling him abut his responsibilities, etc...or staying angry/bitter about him abandoning you and your child(ren)...what would you tell another woman who was in your shoes?
