Clutch /Shift problem 92 mazda 626 manual transmission?

Its my daughters car manual 5 speed clutch is very soft goes easily to floor and does not disengage transmission cannot shift with out grinding gears. Is it the clutch or the hydraulics or a cable problem ? Help !
