Are Comrade Obama's new MPG standards another effort to complete the leftist wussification of the American man?

Since Comrade Obama has decided that all cars need to get a whole lotta miles per gallon, will that pretty much seal the fate of the American man who wants a car that has a little power and comfort? We know the left won't be satiated until every American man is a blubbering wuss, is this one more thing that will seal the deal?
